 About Anjan Gupta Architects |
He started his career with Eva Maddox Associates as a Senior Architectural Designer. He was involved in the design of the Haworth showroom in Chicago. He worked as a Project Architect with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. He worked on the projects including 66 storeyed A T & T Corporate Center in Chicago, Arthur Anderson Professional School campus in Illinois and 72 acres Canary Wharf - Urban Design project in London.
He then joined ISD Inc, as a Senior Designer where he was involved in many large interior projects mainly corporate and law firms. His major projects included American National Can Corporation- Head Quarters in Chicago, American Medical Association (AMA) - Head Quarters in Chicago. He worked with Kenzo Tange, a Legendary Architect from Japan who was the building architect for AMA project.
He also worked as a Senior Designer at Perkins & Will. His major projects included the renovation of The Rookery - a heritage building, originally designed by John Wellborn Root and Daniel Burnham of Burnham and Root in 1888 and later renovated by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1907; and Reff Showroom, both in Chicago.
Later, he went to work with O Donnell, Wicklund, Pigozzi & Peterson Architects as a Senior Designer. Major project designed by him was University Orthopaedics, at University of Illinois, Chicago, American Airlines City Check-in center in Chicago.
He set up his firm "Anjan Gupta Architects" on his return to India in 1992. Since then he has completed many projects of different types and scale ranging from Corporate to Health care, Hospitality to Research Laboratories, Auditorium, Recreational, Educational to Residential.
His clients are from Government, Semi Government, Private and Corporate Sectors as well as Foreign Diplomatic Missions including US Consulate and German Consulate. He has been rendering honourary architectural services as well as serving as a member of the Governing Body of Cancer Centre welfare Home & Research Institute, Thakurpukur, Kolkata; a non profitable comprehensive cancer centre.He has also been rendering honorary Architectural services for many a Charitable institute. |
